Ireland: The first international joint project was launch was by an Irish poet from 2008 in County Kildare Eire, which attracted much press attention and even a note in the New Yorker magazine.
New Zealand: The most successful launch to date has been in Dunedin Otago New Zealand in 2009. The scheme was promoted by a local poet, Ruth Arnison. The Otago project soon spread throughout New Zealand with strong support from local poets and local health services. A request for the poetry cards has come from Samoa, while a supply was despatched to the Scott Base Antarctic. PitWR New Zealand ran the haiku competion 'When North Meets South' in November 2012. Colombia: In 2013, a Spanish language version of PitWR was launched by a local project, led by Juan Felipe Jaramillo Gartner. The first cards were printed in May 2014. Details of 'Poemas en la Sala de Espera' are available on their website.
United States: In the United States, an article about PitWR was published in the Journal of Poetry Therapy in June 2006.
January 2014 saw a new PitWR card produced by the Dr. Robert L.A. Keeley Healing Arts Program of Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia, in association with partners.
Australia and South Africa: A scheme has launched in Australia and discussions have also been held with a proposal in South Africa.
