Thanks to generous support from the Ashley Family Foundation, and excellent professional services provided to us by ProLists, VirtualAssist and our long-standing printers Aquatint bsc, the Winter 2013 edition of our poetry card will be circulated to 146 new surgeries in Wales over and above the 1,300 we already serve across the UK. This makes Winter 2013 the largest circulation for several years, providing our free poetry cards to thousands more NHS patients waiting to see their GP. Our thanks to all those who have assisted with this expansion, and to the surgeries who have joined our scheme. We hope your patients will enjoy the poetry we have chosen, and welcome any comments you may have.
We celebrated National Poetry Day today by commissioning the 57th edition of our poetry card for doctors waiting rooms from our printers. The card will shortly be on its way to more than 1,300 doctors waiting rooms up and down the country. Look out for our cards in your local surgery or health centre, and maybe join us in celebrating poetry by becoming a Friend of PitWR, or helping ensure the circulation of our Winter edition with a donation.
A generous grant from the Ashley Family Foundation means that Poems in the Waiting Room will be able to offer our poetry cards to all general practitioners surgeries in Wales. We will be contacting GP practice managers during October, and the funds from the Ashley Family Foundation will support the supply of poetry cards for the next three years. We are very grateful for this kind sponsorship.
The Ashley Family Foundation (previously the Laura Ashley Foundation) has a long standing connection with Wales, where the founding company was established in the 1960's.
